Newborn’s body recovered at Burns Bog dump, mom (20) facing infanticide charge
It was a case so disturbing that Richmond RCMP spokeswoman Cpl. Jennifer Pound, heavily pregnant with her fourth child, had to fight off tears at a news conference Monday.
“You don’t have to be a parent to be disturbed by this,” she said. “It hits people on many levels.”
On Jan. 21, the woman delivered the baby in the bathroom of her boyfriend’s Richmond home while he slept on the couch, police said.
She told him she had miscarried, police said, and the two of them wrapped the baby in a towel, put him in a garbage bag and discarded the body in a dumpster at a nearby school.
